Usually, all the trout in the White River spawn November through February. According to the biologist I have talked to, the spawn almost never make it because the time of year they spawn is also the time of year we need the most electricity. So if they spawn when the water is
high, then the water will go down and leave the eggs on dry land. If they spawn when the water is off, the river comes up and they wash away. After they spawn they are really hungry, so wintertime fishing is sometimes the best.
